A journey of Playing in Milwaukee’s Past. Forest Home Cemetery and the Girl Scouts of Southeast Wisconsin are proud to partner to share in a historical tour that helps young scouts discover and understand women’s accomplishments and contributions to Milwaukee’s past.
The roles women played in the history of Milwaukee are frequently left out of books. Come to Forest Home Cemetery and discover the accomplishments of many fascinating women, including:
Alice Chester and Marion Read
While walking through this beautiful cemetery, girls will learn about the involvement of Milwaukee women in the Underground Railroad, the Soldier’s Home, Children’s Hospital, Schlitz Brewery, North Point Lighthouse, and more.
