Make the Spirits of the Silent City tours your favorite autumn tradition. The event returns for its 3rd year with captivating stories and a NEW route and NEW Spirits, offering TWO weekends of history and delight.
Under theatrical lighting, the cemetery becomes a stage for professional actors who bring the stories of our cemetery to life. Your spirit guide, portraying a notable Milwaukeean, will guide you through stops where you will meet some of the cemetery’s remarkable residents. Tours produced by Forest Home Historic Preservation Association in collaboration with Caper Company.
Spirits of the Silent City: Dead Reckoning!
The phrase not only evokes imagery of navigation and exploration but also serves as a poignant metaphor for the reflective journeys of the historical figures featured in our tour. Each forever-resident of Forest Home has a story that is as unique and compelling as the lives they led, shared with you in the somewhat spooky atmosphere of the nighttime in Milwaukee’s most illustrious cemetery.
What people are saying about Spirits of the Silent City
“I went with my wife and teenage daughters. We had a blast. It’s a historic tour of the cemetery with actors portraying the spirits of Milwaukee residents that are buried in the cemetery. As you are led around you stop at different places and meet other residents of the “Silent City”. They are each interesting historic figures with fascinating stories. It’s all very moody and beautifully lit. The actors are great. This was by far our favorite fall outing so far this year!”
“This was absolutely fantastic. The actors, the flow … everything. Just loved it.”
