William Pitt Lynde
Lynde’s political and legal career spanned 44 years. Offices held include Milwaukee mayor, state assembly and senate, state attorney general, U.S. district attorney and separate terms in the House of Representatives. A law partnership he founded with Asahel Finch, Jr. in 1842 survives today as Foley & Lardner, the oldest and largest law firm in Wisconsin.
