George Williams Peckham

Peckham’s law and medical degrees served him well as a biology teacher and later principal at East Side High School. He was also superintendent of Milwaukee’s schools from 1892 to 1896. With his wife, Elizabeth Gifford, he carried on scientific investigations in the field of entomology, specializing in the study of spiders and wasps.
