George H. Walker

In 1834, he settled south of the Milwaukee River in the area known as Walker’s Point. Walker is one of the city’s three founding fathers. His ventures in real estate eventually involved local and statewide railways. Walker was elected mayor in 1851 and served two consecutive terms.
