Edward Payson Bacon

As freight agent for the Milwaukee & Mississippi Railroad, Bacon developed methods of accounting and conducting freight and passenger traffic that were adopted by most of the nation’s western railroads. He became one of the largest grain dealers in the Midwest. He was president of the Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce and a vice president of the National Board of Trade.
