Frederick Vogel

Pfister and Vogel became business partners in the early 1850’s, Pfister had a leather goods store and Vogel was a tanner by trade. Together they would develop the largest leather tannery in the world by the 1890’s. The Pfister & Vogel Corporation was one of Milwaukee’s largest industries and demands for porcessed hides was so great, they imported leather hides by the train loads from Chicago stock yards.
